Great stop! We stopped here for a brew and burgers after seeing some gorgeous Alaskan vistas. Bae knows her beer and was straight up about food recommendations. Played a few games of pool and enjoyed chatting with some locals. Friendly & fun! Live music sitting up as we were leaving. Everything you want in a good bar. Thanks Bae & Brown Bear!

Alright, so let me start with the staff. Sarah and her husband (totally am spacing his name!) were so great and I really enjoyed hanging out at the bar with them. If you want an off the beaten path, great price, clean rooms and a cool little saloon downstairs you should definitely stay here. Rooms are simple. No tv, not the best wifi (but like, were in Alaska so thats expected), but did have a mini fridge, comfy bed and a great warm shower. We stayed here for our last night as it was only a 30 min drive to anchorage. The hotels in anchorage had terrible reviews for the budget options. This was baby far the best decision we could have made. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in Alaska. You want a real local experience? Stay here!!! <3 Thank you guys!

Love this hole in the wall place! We go for their delicious burgers with their house sauce, and drinks. Nice laid back place, quick service, great customer service, and amazing food!!! If you ever get a chance I def recommend to stop through. Gone here for a couple of birthdays!! And just random drives for good food. Put dollars on the wall! The bathrooms are hilarious (need a sense of humor) you’ll see what I mean when you go.

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was small but neat. We were arriving really late at night at 3 am. Matt stayed up to give us the keys and told us that we could check out later than 10 am. We were very grateful to be able to sleep in a little. In the morning, we were greeted with a breathtaking view of the Turnagain Arm just outside the motel.

Great stop along the Seward highway! They have a veggie burger listed on the menu, and they had impossible burgers, so it was nice to have a vegan option (omitting sauce and cheese).

We did not stay at the hotel, but we ate in the saloon. This is a really fantastic dive type place right on the Seward Highway. A great place to stop for lunch driving south from Anchorage. We were riding our bikes on the bike path along the highway enjoying the great views. The staff was really friendly and we played some darts while we waited for our burgers. You should stop there if you are in the area!

This is a fantastic stay for the price. Rooms are cozy and the view from the hotel is gorgeous. The bartender/owner/front desk is super friendly and the bar itself has a great lively environment. Only complaint is internet isn’t very strong, you can get by for most applications, I just wouldn’t try to work remote here. All in all awesome stay

I stayed at the Brown Bear for a week. The room was quite clean and comfortable with private bath, refrigerator, microwave and comfortable bed. The saloon owner, staff, and patrons are friendly and welcoming. The food is good and there's a great selection of beer. Can't beat the price for the value delivered. Looking forward to returning again and again.

Honestly, this place feels like home. I am lucky and privileged to call the staff friends and community my home. As a born and raised Alaskan I would recommend. You’re lucky to get time and an excellent experience here.
